This superb one level Newport holiday cottage is the largest of the four Pembrokeshire cottages at Treicert Farm. With a spacious living and dining area, it’s perfect for a family holiday or a small group of friends to enjoy the peaceful rural location with a short drive to plenty of Pembrokeshire activities. The West Wales holiday accommodation has an exposed beamed ceiling, painted stone walls, sink into our squishy leather sofas in the large living area and relax in front of the cosy log burner, Bwthyn Mawr is an ideal Pembrokeshire retreat any time of the year.

What To Expect

The Facilities

The entrance porch leads you to the main hallway with feature stone walls, going through to the living and kitchen area with character exposed beams. The shaker style kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, there’s also a utility room with sink and washer/dryer. The cottage kitchen table seats six and we can supply a high chair on request. Furnished with a Freeview TV, DVD, CD, WiFi and a selection of games with two large comfy leather sofas, savour a cosy evening in front of the wood-burning stove. The Bwthyn Mawr living area is a charming place to relax after enjoying the sea air at one of the many local beaches.

There are 3 beautiful bedrooms in this Newport holiday cottage with thoughtfully chosen finishing touches. A spacious master bedroom with double bed, and plenty of storage with a wardrobe, bedside tables, a dressing table and chair and a large contemporary ensuite shower room. A further 2 bedrooms each have 2 single beds and bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers and a well-equipped bathroom with bath, overhead shower, toilet and hand basin.

To the rear of this delightful cottage is an enclosed courtyard garden with a decked area, private patio and lovely countryside views to enjoy whilst alfresco dining.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Weekly changeover day is usually Friday. All Bed linen & towels are included, please bring your own beach towels. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Off-road parking for 3 cars. There’s a fenced pond within the farm grounds.

Bwthyn Mawr was such a comfortable, cosy cottage in a fantastic location for exploring Pembrokeshire.

The cottage was well equipped and we loved having the log burner on in the evenings. We had a wonderful long weekend break here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Bwthyn Mawr is a very cosy, comfortable and well-equipped cottage with everything you are likely to need

The photos are a good representation of what to expect. We stayed during a cold, windy week in November and were very snug! Both the front and rear outside areas are enclosed making it a great cottage for doggies.The nearest village, Nevern, and nearest town, Newport, are very nice with plenty of good places to eat and local walks.

This is a lovely cottage in a wonderfully quiet and peaceful location

The owners (and Grandma onsite) were friendly and helpful. We loved the area and found it easy to get to numerous fantastic sites – such as the gorgeous beaches (Poppit, Mwnt, Newport beach) and attractions. We absolutely loved the Iron Age village – Castell Henllys, which was fascinating. There is also a tea room there by the river, which was simply bliss on a hot summer day. It was only a 40 minute drive to St David’s too.

How To Get There

Y Stabal, Treicert, Nevern, Newport, Pembrokeshire, SA42 0PA
Fishguard: 12 miles,  Cardigan: 6 miles, Newport: 4 miles

From Newport on the A487:

Drive through Newport and turn left by Llysmeddyg restaurant onto Feidr Pen-Y-Bont, go over the bridge and head towards Moylegrove. Continue on this road to a t-junction and turn right here. Follow this road and take the 2nd right, carry on along this road and you’ll come to the Treicert Farm Cottages sign on your left, you can turn into our drive towards the cottages here.

From Cardigan on the A487:

From the A487 turn right at Croft Cottages onto the B4582 towards Nevern. Follow the road through Glanrhyd and up the hill for about a mile. Turn right towards Newport beach and follow the road past Pantgwyn Quarry to the crossroads. Go straight over and follow the road around a sharp bend until you get to the T-junction. Turn left here (still towards Newport beach) and half a mile on the right you will see a lane with a sign for Treicert Farm Cottages. Follow the lane and bear round to the right where you will find our cottages.

If using a SatNav for SA420PA, it will take you to a neighbours lane, please follow the road to our lane approx 400m further along, if coming from Cardigan you will pass the lane first.
