The perfect Newport holiday cottage for couples. Y Cwtch was originally an old farm kitchen and has now been converted into a luxurious cottage with fantastic views of Newport and Pembrokeshire mountain hills. With plenty of thoughtfully chosen finishing touches, Y Cwtch has a welcome sunroom at the entrance with character exposed stone walls, oak framed floor to ceiling windows, comfy leather sofa and chairs with views into the courtyard and the countryside beyond.

This superb cottage really oozes understated charm, the downstairs luxury bathroom has a jacuzzi bath with overhead shower, toilet, hand basin and heated towel rail. Upstairs, you’ll find the beautifully decorated, spacious airy bedroom with king-size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and dressing table. 

Outside there’s an enclosed lawned garden, safe for pets and a gravelled patio area with table and chairs to relax enjoying the rural Welsh surroundings after a day rambling the hills or exploring the nearby Pembrokeshire coast path.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Weekly changeover day is usually Friday. All Bed linen & towels are included, please bring your own beach towels. One well-behaved dog welcome. Off-road parking for 2 cars. There’s a fenced pond within the farm grounds.

So lovely!

This was our 3rd visit to this delightful cottage. Well equipped. Owners very friendly. Views beautiful. Newport beach close by and very dog-friendly. A short run to get provisions but not a real problem as it is so peaceful around the cottage. Always love the little cakes on arrival (I am wondering if I just go for them l.o.l.)

We had such a relaxing time at this lovely cottage

It is very well equipped (more than any other that we have stayed in) and the cupcakes were very welcome once we settled in with a nice cuppa. There was more than enough grounds at the back for our dog to have a good sniff with a lovely walk at the side of the farm. Newport is only about a 15 minute drive but we found that nothing was too far away. When we come back to this area will definitely come back as it suited our needs perfectly.

I had a wonderful little break with my doggy. The cottage was set in a beautiful setting: close to beaches and heart of Pembrokeshire National Park. The owners were so friendly and helpful, would highly recommend!

How To Get There

Y Stabal, Treicert, Nevern, Newport, Pembrokeshire, SA42 0PA
Fishguard: 12 miles,  Cardigan: 6 miles, Newport: 4 miles

From Newport on the A487:

Drive through Newport and turn left by Llysmeddyg restaurant onto Feidr Pen-Y-Bont, go over the bridge and head towards Moylegrove. Continue on this road to a t-junction and turn right here. Follow this road and take the 2nd right, carry on along this road and you’ll come to the Treicert Farm Cottages sign on your left, you can turn into our drive towards the cottages here.

From Cardigan on the A487:

From the A487 turn right at Croft Cottages onto the B4582 towards Nevern. Follow the road through Glanrhyd and up the hill for about a mile. Turn right towards Newport beach and follow the road past Pantgwyn Quarry to the crossroads. Go straight over and follow the road around a sharp bend until you get to the T-junction. Turn left here (still towards Newport beach) and half a mile on the right you will see a lane with a sign for Treicert Farm Cottages. Follow the lane and bear round to the right where you will find our cottages.

If using a SatNav for SA420PA, it will take you to a neighbours lane, please follow the road to our lane approx 400m further along, if coming from Cardigan you will pass the lane first.
